Abstract

The author of book Historia głupich idei albo duch narodu w świątyni nauki Maciej Górny analyzes pseudo-scientific theories that throughout history have been used to justify prejudices and achieve political goals. Is science always reliable and impartial? Maciej Górny suggests that it is not, providing examples of how manifestations of racism, nationalism or chauvinism have been scientifically justified throughout history. This book prompts the question of what else might be the social consequences of scientific mistakes.
