Abstract

The aim of the study was to establish the personality conditions of attitude to be vs to have by young adults at the threshold of their careers. As personality variables included the characteristics between five-factor model of Costa and McCrae. The research comprised group of 267 students of Pedagogy. Correlation analysis confirmed a statistically significant associations between attitude to be and agreeableness, extraversion, neuroticism and openness to experience (r-Pearson coefficients respectively: 0.52, 0.32, –0.31, 0.26, all at significance level of p < 0.01). On the other hand, regression analysis showed agreeableness as the most important predictor of attitude to be (adjusted R-squared = 0.27, beta = 0.44, p < 0.001), and the other predictors of personality (neuroticism and openness to experience) correspond to a total of only 5% of the variance results in the level of attitude to be.
