Innovative supply network with the use of transport drones

Abstract

The article presents the concept of a distribution network in which unmanned aerial vehicles and the existing network of parcel machines were proposed for transport. It also presents the specificity and legal constraints of transporting cargo using unmanned aerial vehicles. As an example, the author used the distribution and handling of book returns at the National Library in Warsaw. Such a solution has not yet existed on the market, although unmanned aircraft are increasingly used in business. The idea has a chance to be implemented after earlier adaptation of the parcel machine network to this type of service. The presented solution can also be proposed for the transport of other products, e.g. articles of industrial or even food or medical articles, after adapting both means of transport and storage to the specifics of these articles and taking into account constraints related to legal conditions and aviation regulations.
