Abstract

There is a substantial potential to eco-innovate in the EU. The article presents good practice examples from across France proving that these activities can be enhanced and ramped up throughout the EU. Visions set out an ambitious pathway for environmetal technologies in the future, but also reveal that the opportunities are both plentiful and within reach. Author sees the impact of the financial and economic crises as the biggest challenge facing the green innovations today. In 20 years, however, the impacts of climate change, resource constraints and changed demographics are expected to have the strongest impact on the ecosector.
