The effective management of employees solves many problems in a supervisor-subordinate system. Effective management involves
managers acting appropriately to ensure the efficiency of employees in accordance with the expectations and objectives of the organisation. Nowadays, the term “manager” is increasingly used to describe people who manage the work of employees, or those who manage an enterprise or its separate organisational units. The aim of this article is to present the essence and characteristics of personnel management and to emphasize the role and importance in the workplace of people who direct the work of employees. Such people, according to the author, should be referred to as “managers”. The article includes a summary in which the author pays particular attention to the issue of managers’ communication with employees in the organisation of the supervisor-subordinate system.
