Abstract

This article discusses technical high school students’ stress as they prepare to enter the labour market. Students feel generally satisfied with their vocational education, but a significant proportion of them are not convinced about looking for a job in their profession. The situation of entering the labour market for almost half of students is related to psychological distress and unpleasant emotions. At the same time, students are aware of competences that would be useful to them in navigating the labour market. These are: knowledge of foreign languages and soft social competences. The results of the research indicate the need to support young people in the above-mentioned areas through educational activities and career counselling.
