Abstract

This article discusses the current situation of the residential market in Poland. Its aim is to present the average prices of residential property and the scale of demand in residential property markets in individual voivodships in Poland. To this end, the
2014–2016 GUS data on the housing market are analysed. The article is organised as follows: a short introduction in the first part of the article is followed by a synthetic account of the real estate market. There is then a discussion of how demand and supply in the real estate market are shaped, a characterisation of the real estate market in terms of the system and a consideration of the
cyclical fluctuations of the real estate market. The second part of the article analyses the situation of voivodship residential property markets in Poland (average prices of residential premises, demand and changes in macroeconomic indicators). The third part of the article presents trends in the real estate market. The article ends with a concise summary.
