Abstract

The article presents a method for planning material investment in a company in order to facilitate understanding of the broader context in which planning processes take place and to enable evaluation of the adopted policy. The article refers to declarative knowledge about the method that a company employs to plan material investment. The article constitutes a basic introduction to writing a detailed written procedure that defines the process to be adopted, the conduct of participants and the documents used. The method that a company uses to plan its material investment is closely linked to its strategy and investment policy and is a standard that controls its operational sphere. A detailed written procedure-policy is a tool for a company to implement its policy. A change in a company’s investment policy may require a change in the written planning procedure.
